SNOW DAY!

It SNOWED!  In The Woodlands, on this past Friday!  I still can’t believe it!  It started snowing about 9:00am and stopped about 3:30 or 4:00 in the afternoon.  Jimmy was really bummed out because we were both at work for the fun.

I was leading circle time in my classroom, when I looked out the window and saw the snow.  I turned off the music, told the kids to get their jackets and out we went.  We played in the snow for about 30 minutes!  It was a blast watching the five year olds experience snow for the first time!

My class and I trying to catch some flakes.  I hate that you can’t see how much snow was actually falling out of the sky!

Here is my car at the end of the day.  Who thought I would need an ice scrapper, living this close to Houston, Texas!?!?

What a fun day!  Hopefully, we will see snow again, before next year!

Thankful.

I realize it has been about two months since I posted to our blog.  Oops.  Its not that nothing exciting has been going on-but the exciting thing has been kept a secret until now!

Jimmy and I are especially thankful for BABY DAVIS who should be here around June 13, 2010!

I am 12 weeks pregnant this week and we couldn’t be more excited!  I have felt so good these past few weeks!  I am very thankful that I have not yet felt sick or very nauseous.  I felt a little nauseated once, but then it passed, after about 10 minutes.  Other than exhaustion and starvation, everything has been so great!

We had another appointment yesterday and heard the heartbeat again.  That is such a cool experience!  I have gained about 2-3 pounds so far.  My doctor says I can still train and run the half marathon in January!

My principal announced the news to the school staff a few weeks ago.  Today, we told my grandparents, aunt and cousin.  So, its official!

Time for Some Updates…

We have been so super busy the past few weeks, but its been fun.  I feel like I am still living at school, but I still love teaching Kindergarten.  My kids are so sweet and I always have funny stories to share!

A few weeks ago, a teacher friend of mine asked if we wanted her season tickets to the Texan game!  I have never been to an NFL game so, this was quite an experience.  It was a blast!!

We had the ‘nose bleed’ seats, but thats ok, they were awesome!

Last Tuesday, mom, dad, Jimmy and I went to The Houston Astros game.  We had seats in row 28 behind home plate!  In the middle of the 4th inning, the family behind us offered us their tickets in the Diamond Club!!  They did not want to go down there so, they game them to us!

Holy Cow!  We were in the FIRST ROW!

These seats are just perfection!  (Hunter Pence and I even made eye contact!  I think thats why he didn’t play so hot that night.)

Yesterday, we went to Baker’s Street Pub for The Texans Game.  This was such a fun afternoon!  They have super cheap drinks and appetizers and at first, we had the place to ourselves.

Too bad the Texans lost again!

I will really try hard to update more often.  I have created a blog for my class at school too.  So, I am trying to keep that one updated as well!

I can’t believe it is almost October!!

Loved our Labor Day!

I haven't blogged in what seems like forever, but that is because I have been living in my classroom. I get up about 4:15-4:30 every morning to work out, then I get to school. I am normally one of the first people at school, but I can get things done without any interruptions! Needless to say, I was looking forward to just one day off. What else would we do with our day off??? We went to the river of course!!!

On our way into New Braunfels, we stopped in Austin to eat at Hula Hut! So so very yummy!! I love this place, but I haven't been in forever. Jimmy had never been - he was very impressed.

I wish this picture wasn't so dark. Actually, I wish I had the time or energy to edit it, but I don't so, its stuck this way for now. This is Lake Austin. We are on a bridge under Mopac. There were runners everywhere on this bridge! It kinda made me jealous for a second, that we don't live there.

On Sunday, we got up to float and it was so very glorious!! I can't get enough of the river!

Oh, oh, oh! I almost forgot the BEST part of the weekend!!! Our friends, Jay and Kelly and their girls (two were our flower girls and one is our Goddaughter) are moving back to Texas!! They are not moving to the Houston area, unfortunately, but they are moving near Austin! Last time I checked, that is a lot closer than California!! Just so happens that Jay was in Austin for his final interview and some house hunting while we were in New Braunfels!! So, we met up for breakfast. It was so wonderful to see him and catch up! I am so happy for this family! They are expecting baby girl #4 in December!! We already have a trip planned as soon as she arrives! LOVE IT!

I hope everyone else had such an awesome weekend, too!

Two Down!

I don't think my mind has calmed down yet. Things have been nonstop since Monday morning when the kids walked in the door.
I am so glad I took these two pictures before my class came in on Monday because it sure doesn't look like this now. There have been fights over crayons, sitting too close to each other and the fact that someone is crying makes everyone else's ears hurt. Yesterday, I gave up on the crayon boxes. In two days, we lost about 9 crayons because somehow they don't fit into a single box anymore. When they are trying to put their crayons in the boxes, they shove them in so hard that the bottom falls out and then there is a mess to clean up. Oh man. I think kindergarten teachers should get together and write a book. Nobody would believe what happens in the class.

It has been really fun though. Its so great to watch them learn little things throughout the day. Most of them are so willing to please and just want to do what I tell them.

I will try to post more stories as the year goes on, but right now, I am simply exhausted. I hope all the other teachers have had a great first week!!

We're Beat.

Seriously exhausted. I can't even begin to tell you how worn out we feel. Last Monday, they finally let us back into the school to unpack all the boxes we packed in May. Jimmy came with me to help with the heavy stuff. This is my room on Monday morning, after we moved things around and shuffled through furniture.

This is my room at the beginning of this week. I wish I would have taken a pitcure today because it looks so so great!
Jimmy has had two employees transfer to another department of the bank within the past two weeks. Between me working about 10 hours a day at school and Jimmy working more and more at the bank, we have hardly seen each other. We're beat and exhausted. Now that school is starting on Monday, I have a feeling its only just begun.

One Last Summer Trip…

Jimmy and I packed up last weekend and headed to New Braunfels for one last mini-vacation of the summer. I had my running group that morning and Jimmy had to work so, we didn’t actually get into town until about 7pm Saturday night.

Before we went to the house, we stopped by Clear Springs for dinner. This is one of the best restaurants in town and we love to go there when we can! They are famous for their onion rings and anything fried.SDC14452When we got to the house, two new toobs were waiting for us! These toobs are so perfect for the river! The headrest is luxurious and since they are white, you don’t run the risk of third degree burns while floating! VLUU L310 W / Samsung L310 W

On Sunday morning, we got up and hit the river! We only went through once, then headed into San Marcos for some outlet shopping! Since we were in my college town, I took Jimmy to one of our favorite places to eat! Italian Garden is so so delicious, I can’t even explain it! We left and only paid $12 total and were stuffed!! Thats college town food for ya! (Its actually a good thing we don’t live in the Hill Country…everywhere we go is the “best place to eat!:)VLUU L310 W / Samsung L310 WOn Monday, guess what we did?!? We floated the river again! Seriously, we can’t get enough of the river! Monday evening, we went into San Antonio to The Magic Time Machine for Janessa and Janeya’s birthday dinner! What a fun place to eat!! If you have never been there, go! (I think they are only in San Antonio and Dallas though.) The waiters are all dressed up as different characters and play their parts all through dinner. Our waiter was Shaggy from Scooby Doo! So fun! VLUU L310 W / Samsung L310 WWhat an awesome summer we had! I cannot believe its nearly over! We are truly blessed to be able to go so many cool places and spend time with friends and family!

P.S. Our school is open this Monday!! Pictures to come of my room!!
