Awesome Weekend!!

We had such a fun weekend!!  It started off with no real plans, but of course, we filled it up!

Saturday, it hit 70 degrees!!  We knew we had to do something outside so, we packed our picnic basket and headed to the park!

We brought the dogs with us this time!  At first, they weren’t sure what to do about all the ducks and people, but calmed down and had a great time, too!

Gettin Things Ready…

On Friday, Jimmy and I took the day off to go to the baby doctor and to register!  We went to Target and Babies R Us.  After a few hours, everything we wanted was zapped and scanned.  We had a blast, but a lot of the day was figuring out why we need all this stuff and how it works.

We found this high chair we like.  It was supposed to recline, fold up and pop back to its original size, all with one hand.  Too bad we couldn’t figure out how to do it with two hands and help from the employee.

Finally, we got it, but it definitely took more than 4 hands to get it right.

We also finally bought the bedding!  Its gorgeous!

On Saturday, Jimmy and his brother picked up the dresser.  It weighs about 200 pounds!

That afternoon, I went to take a bath and came back into the room to find Jimmy passed out in the glider.  When I woke him up, he said, “I just proved you can fall asleep in this thing.”  The dogs didn’t mind either, they love any chance to get cozy and sleep!

This past Thursday, I had to get a root canal.  :(  Jimmy surprised me with these flowers at school before I left.  Aren’t they beautiful?!

I love getting all this stuff done for baby!  We are getting really excited to welcome her to our family!  I can’t believe there are less than 4 months left!

PS- Jimmy is really diggin the name Addison (or possibly Addyson) lately…totally different direction than we were heading, but I kinda like it too.  I just wish it wasn’t so popular.  What do you think of it?

Life these days and Blessings….

This weekend, we tackled the crib and all its pieces.  Turns out, it wasn’t as hard as we thought it would be.

The biggest issue was dealing with the other two ‘people’ and their nerves as we assembled it.  Layla and Maya did not rest all afternoon.  They stared at us and shook most of the day.

Saturday night, we went to the Houston Rockets game with mom’s school.  Since we parked so far away, we found this cute trolley type car to give us a ride.  Its an electric car, made by GE and it was pretty cool!  She was waiting for us on our way out of the game too!

Our seats were pretty high up, but we still had a great eim!

SDC15633

We have been overwhelmed with the blessings that have come to us and baby girl!  A teacher at school told me she wanted to give us her glider and wouldn’t take any money for it!  Even though its white, and our furniture it dark brown, I think if we get brown cushions on it, it will look perfect!

Last July, there were three baby girls born at our church within a week of each other.  On Sunday, one of the moms asked us to come over so she could give us some ‘baby stuff.’  Turns out, she gave us a few pieces of baby gear and a TON of clothes!

SDC15648

We were seriously blown away by the amount of clothes she handed to us!  Even though it may not look like it in this first picture, check out what her closet looks like now!

SDC15651 SDC15652

This is clothes pretty much up to 6 months old!  I can’t believe she isn’t even here yet and her stuff is already taking over!

We are so lucky, blessed and thankful for the generosity of our family and friends!!!

Special Visitor…

On Thursday, my mom came to read to our class!  She was so excited to meet the best kindergarten class ever!  She is a teacher at another elementary school down the road, but wanted to spend some time at our school, with my fabulous kids!

SDC15558

She read us two books, from an author (Janet Stevens) who visited her school this week!  The author even signed the book, just for our classroom!

SDC15556

One book she read needed two volunteers to dress up!  She chose a boy to be the dog…

SDC15560

…and a girl to be the Princess Cat!

  SDC15563

The cat even tied up the dog with his own leash!

They LOVED having her read!

SDC15569

K2 gave her two big thumbs up!

SDC15570

Thanks, mom, for coming to spend the morning with us!  We can’t wait until you come back!

PS…Have I mentioned that I LOVE my job??  I have a wonderful class and couldn’t ask for more!
