Why Tanning is Bad...

I love to have a gorgeous, glowing tan every summer! What I normally do is start tanning in a tanning bed about three months before we go on vacation. That way, I am nice and dark and ready for the beach!
Well, a few months ago, I noticed a spot on my left cheek. Yuck. It didn't get smaller, just kept getting a little bigger and a little bigger... (I actually had people ask me if I had chocolate on my face.)
Today, I went to the dermatologist and she said she had to freeze it off! It wasn't raised or anything, but she just wanted to be safe and take it off. She also said that she sees more women, ages 25-30 coming in with signs of melanoma than anything else. It is because of how much sun we got before we turned 20 that is starting to hurt our skin now. Yikes! I got a lot of sun, everyday of every summer!
Anyway, I have another appointment with her for a full skin check. And I guess I won't be hitting the tanning bed before our vacation this summer! Bummer, but I'd rather not get skin cancer or any more spots on my face!

Here is the spot on my cheek. I hate it.

Jimmy's Dad

Jimmy's dad passed away on March 9. The Memorial Service was this past Monday. I did not take pictures during the memorial, but here are some from the lunch at his brother's house after the service.

Finally!!!

I FINALLY got onto blogger and it listened to me!! I was getting so frustrated! So, I will probably have about 3 or 4 posts tonight!

First, I will start with the first weekend of March.....

Last semester, I received a call at school from the HR Rep at Wal-Mart. She told me that I had won Teacher of The Year. They have nominations each year at every store and I was nominated and chosen for The Woodlands! (Who knows how that happened?!?) The banquet was at The Westin Galleria on March 6. Here we are, all dressed up for our fancy evening!

The next day, we went into Old Town Spring for their Art and Wine Festival. Turns, out, it was way more expensive than we thought it would be. So, we instead bought our own bottle of wine, a plate of cheese and crackers and sat outside, enjoying the beautiful day!

It turns out, our life isn't too exciting, but we do have some cute pictures to share of the past few weekends and I am glad I am finally able to post them.
