SFA Graduation!!

This past weekend, we all (and I mean our whole family) drove to Nacogdoches for Kasey's graduation and birthday! She graduated from college and turned 23 on the same day! It was such a fun weekend!

The dogs came with us too! They didn't enhoy riding in the car for 2 1/2 hours.
Me and Mucka at the restaurant! I just love her!

Kasey earned her degree in Education Early Childhood-4th Grade. Even though we all want her to come home, she accepted a job in Nacogdoches teaching PreK. She plans to teach out there for the spring semester, then look for a job in The Woodlands!

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!!

Rumors of snow filled the school yesterday! Since I have a window in my room, I had several people tell me to come get them as soon as it started to snow so they could witness the once in a lifetime (in Houston) event! I highly doubted any snow at all...but sure enough, as soon as we left the building, the snow started! It did not stop until about midnight!

The snow started about 4:00! Check out the snow in my hair!Right before I went to bed, here is our deck
The snow falling on our house!
Jimmy had to work late last night so, we didn't get to play in the snow together. When I woke up this morning, I found this little man in my freezer....
Complete with a leaf nose and chocolate chip buttons and eyes, our first (and probably only) snowman!! Jimmy is so proud of him! Here is another picture of him with my Christmas town decorations!

Christmas Time is Here!!

I am sure everyone is saying this, but I cannot believe it is December!!! I mean, we only have three weeks of school, then have two weeks off! What could be better?! Since the weather has been so warm and the year has flown by, I have not gotten in the "Christmassy" mood.
That changed today when we decorated our whole house for Christmas!! Its so awesome! The Christmas after we got engaged, we went to Target and bought a tree, an entire tree decorating set and a ton of Christmas stuff! We love the way our tree looks, even if we only have a few 'special' ornaments! Jimmy and I get each other an ornament every year for Christmas! Its so much fun picking our a good one each season! Also, the Sunday before Christmas, we have a huge family Christmas celebration! Jimmy has a huge family and they all tend to do their own thing on Christmas Day. Having a party at our house is a fun way to get everyone in both our families together!
For the four of you who read my blog, What are your traditions???

Hanging the ornaments!

Run Through the Woods

This past Monday, a teacher and I decided to sign up for the Run Through the Woods in The Woodlands. Its a 5 mile "Fun Run" held every Thanksgiving Day. I easily signed up for it thinking that it would be no problem since I work out every morning. Well, running is a totally different type of work out! I do the elliptical for 30-45 minutes 6 days a week, plus weights and this run kicked my butt! I am so happy to say that we finished the race in just under 50 minutes and never stopped to walk, not once!! There were times that I thought I was going to die! (The last mile started with a huge hill.) I just kept looking forward to seeing Jimmy and my parents at the finish line and then my Thanksgiving nap!! Needless to say, I am so sore right now, but I did it!!!Jessica, Coach Bob (our cheerleader) and me crossing the finish line.
YEA! We did it!!!

TWILIGHT MANIA

Yep, I saw it and I love it! I loved the whole movie! I saw the movie twice in two days and I am so ready to buy it.
I will say that it was not as good as the book. They can never recreate what you have pictured in your mind. I have read reviews that thought the special effects were awful. While there were some cheesy parts in the movie, but I just had to look past it. :)
I read online that they confirmed the start of production for 'New Moon!' I am pumped!!
Right now, I am reading her 5th book, "Midnight Sun." If you have't heard about the book, it is Twilight, but from Edward's point of view. She started writing it, but then someone leaked it online. She hasn't finished it yet, but has made it available to read. If you want it, let me know and I will email it to you.
For now, I will just keep waiting for Twilight to come out on DVD so I can watch it again and again!!

Slow...

Life has been pretty uneventful around here. A few weeks ago, two of the kids in my class had pink eye. Well, according to our school nurse, it was pink eye. According to the kids parents, they were fine and there was no reason to keep them home from school, away from others. So, last Thursday morning when my eyes started to feel weird, I knew what was coming. Yep, pink eye in both eyes. I attempted to go into work on Friday, but got sent home because my eyes looked (and felt) like they were on fire. Its so irritating the parents couldn't keep their kids home for just a few days. Then, I wouldn't have had to use one of my precious days off, I wouldn't have to get new contacts and all new eye make up!! Now, it is Monday and my eyes are still a little red. I still can't wear my contacts. I am hoping this goes away soon!!

Recently, we went to the RenFest...heres a pic of us and our delicious turkey leg!! Yummmmm!

Happy Birthday, Jimmy!

Jimmy turned 27 on Halloween! This past weekend was so much fun celebrating his birthday! On Friday night, I surprised him by arranging for his family to all meet for dinner. On Saturday, we went to eat with my parents. Then, on Sunday, we went on an adventure! For his birthday, I bought him a flight over the area. The best part, He got to FLY THE PLANE! It was an hour flight and once we got into the air, the pilot let him take over! It was pretty scary, but we had a good time!

Theres our plane

Jimmy about to take off!
Flying the plane! 3000 feet up!
I never really let go of that strap.
