Amazing New Baby, Amazing New Dad!

Happy First Father’s Day to Jimmy!

I never knew I would have to rely on Jimmy so much, for everything, like I have these past few weeks.  Once Addison was born, he stepped right up and took care of every little thing for us and waited on me hand and foot.  I hate feeling so helpless and exhausted, but he has not minded one bit!  We had a bit of a rough time for the four days we were in the hospital.  Jimmy was a champ, changing diapers, going to the ‘new baby class’ alone, getting me everything I need and sleeping on the not so comfy couch/bed.

He is so proud of Addison and loves her so much!

Once we came home, I thought I would bounce right back and be able to do everything again.  Turns out, I was wrong and the surgery kicked my butt.  Jimmy still waited on us, helped feed, burp, change, dress and love on Addison while taking care of me, the dogs and his super long to-do list.  The past three weeks, Jimmy has been working crazy hard on projects he has wanted to get done around the house.  Thanks to help from another great father, my dad!, Jimmy knocked out a pretty big chunk of his list!

Jimmy has this calming effect on Addison that I don’t have.  She is not a fussy baby, by any means, but when she won’t sleep or is making weird baby noises, he will scoop her up and she’s out.

It has been so much fun watching Jimmy love on Addison and care for her!  He works so hard to make sure we are set up for success (as he says) and that we are all well taken care of.  I probably definitely would not have made it through these last (almost) three weeks without Jimmy’s love and support!

We Love You!

So. In. Love.

So…we have been home since Sunday night.  So far, so good.  We are just trying to get a somewhat decent schedule down.  Between going to bed before midnight, feeding the baby, running errands and trying to keep the house kinda clean, this new life is exhausting.  I keep hoping it will even out soon enough and we will get into a routine.

We are having so much fun though!  It is so nice that Jimmy still has more than a week off of work!  He has been waiting on us hand and foot and getting everything Addison or I need.  I am trying to move around and do as much as I can, but then I find that little things still wear me out!  I don’t know what I would do if Jimmy was already back at work or if he wasn’t so willing to do everything!

Here are a few pictures from the past few days!  Enjoy!

Baptism and Baby Stuff….

This past weekend, our friends from church, California, Austin came into town!  We are so thankful they are at least back in Texas so we can see them semi-often!  Their youngest girl, Reagan Jae, was baptized at our church on Sunday.

Kylie couldn’t let Reagan have all the attention!

Even though their visit was short, we loved having the chance to catch up with them and see how much the girls have grown!

I love this picture from my sweet student, Joey.  I will realy miss her next year!

“My favorite thing about Kindergarten is Mrs. Davis!  I like her because she is super nice and she is the best teacher in the whole world!”

Here I am at 38 weeks!  Nothing changed at our doctor appt this week.  We are still on schedule to go in NEXT WEDNESDAY, JUNE 2 at 7am to meet Addison!

The staff at school had a lovely reception for Leti and I yesterday!  Leti is due at the end of August, but is not coming back to school next fall.

They gave us a gorgeous bow holder and a ton of cute tiny bows!  I have a bunch of big bows, but nothing this small and cute!

Jimmy and I are brainstorming fun activities for this weekend!  There are a bunch of things we need to get done, but want to have a fun day also!  Any ideas?  Each of our last days of work is tomorrow!!  HOLY COW!
